There are tiny cabins, once the homes of famous (some not so famous) people who made a significant contribution to the development of the state; living history communities where you can view life as it was centuries ago. There are museums full of artifacts and memorabilia; old buildings and historic downtown districts; and several major Civil War battlefields. The stories of the battles are described in detail, along with a guided driving or walking tour.
